Jesus Rojelio Puga
Jesus Rojelio Puga Sr., “Chuchi”, “Jess”, was called home on March 18th, 2016, at the age of 70. Jesus was born in Ventura CA., May 9th 1945 to Donaciano Puga (1896 – 1965) and Francisca Arias Puga (1908 – 1991), and was the middle child of ten children. He resided in Oxnard CA. until 1997 when he moved to Long Beach CA. where he lived out the remainder of his long life. Jesus worked for the Pacific Maritime Association I.L.W.U for forty-five years. He started working at Local 46 I.L.W.U and retired at Local 13 I.L.W.U, work number 25188.
Jesus was proceeded in death by: his father Donaciano Puga and mother Francisca Arias Puga; Brothers: Donaciano “Chano” Puga Jr., Raul Puga, Antonio “Tony” Puga; and sisters: Petra “Kidda” Puga, and Mary Jesse Puga.
He is survived by all of his children: Leana Lynn “Jina” and; Jesus Donnal Jr. “Guy” and Rose Puga; Jeffery Monico Puga; and Judy Maria Zapata. In addition to his children, Jesus is survived by siblings: Becky and Henry Navarro; Bertha “Chapa” and Ralph Jacquez; Joe and Nancy Puga; and Lupe and Daniel Sandoval. Jesus is also survived by grandchildren: Tiffany Meiwald, Jesus Puga III, Bobby Wright, Jasmine Puga, Antonio Morsette, Angel Lester, Matthew Puga, Erica Puga, Rojelio Zapata, and Manuel Zapata; and great-grandchildren: Gabriel Jesus Duarte and Cory Noel Puga. As well as various cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jesus loved spending time with his family, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He was an avid Christian, and was everybody’s grandpa. Generosity, Love, and Humor were a strong presence in his life as he loved to help others and bring smiles and laughter to all those around him. He loved his job working for I.L.W.U, every day until his last when he was forced by his retirement to stop. He enjoyed: fishing, fixing cars and other mechanical projects; he loved his AA meetings, music, BBQ’ing, and traveling.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday March 28th, 2016 at 7:00 P.M at The Perez Family Mortuary in Camarillo CA. The Gravesite Services will begin at 11:00 A.M on Tuesday March 29th, 2016 at The Perez Family Mortuary and end at the Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery.
