Moorpark
Jr. “Burley” Hatcher
Jesus B. Hatcher, Jr. of Moorpark, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his girls on Sunday, September 28, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita Ann Lopez-Hatcher, daughters Lori Marie & Elizabeth “Bibit” Hatcher and his three beautiful grandchildren, Gabrielle Nicole (15), Laura Kristine (10) and best friend / grandson Nicholas John (7). Siblings Danny, Raymond, Belinda, Dolly, Joyce, Ronnie, Leonard, Judy and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Burley King & Alvina Mary Hatcher and Father-In-Law, John B. Lopez.
He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and retired in Jan. 2010 from Local 12 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Burley was known as a “stunt man” and a “Jack of all trades” – even if it wasn’t broken, he’d fix it! He enjoyed camping and vacationing with his family. He has taken his family to local camping grounds, Bishop, Grand Canyon, San Francisco, Reno, Salt Lake, Boise, Yellowstone, Montana, Wyoming, Las Vegas, Laughlin, Oregon, Zion, Four Corners, Virginia City and Yosemite.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, drinking & smoking, rocking out and riding his Harley. Just this year alone, he made it to our annual trip to Yosemite in July, helped celebrate Grandma Lopez’s 90th Birthday in August and we just returned from a family trip to Laughlin, we are so thankful, we had a blast.
