Jesus U. Garnica

d. June 22, 2016

Jesus Garnica Uvence went to be with our Lord at the age of 87 on June 22, 2016 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years of marriage, Carmen Linares de Garnica and his parents Jesus Garnica Navarette and Celedonia Uvence de Garnica. His brothers Guadalupe and Enrique and his sister Edubijes. Jesus was a resident of Camarillo, CA for almost 60 years. He was born March 25, 1929 in Atache, Michoacán, Mexico. He married the love of his life in 1951. After the birth of their daughter Maria and their son Jose Luis he migrated his family to California in 1957. He became the foreman of a ranch for Egg City in Somis, CA. The family was extended by the birth of their sons Jesse, Arturo and their youngest son Michael. Later Jesus and his wife purchased their home within the city limits of Camarillo and lived there for the rest of their lives. Jesus left his job as a foreman to work for Saint Mary Magdalen Parish as a grounds keeper and after working there for 8 years he decided to start his own business in as a landscaper and worked hard every day of his life until he retired at the age of 73. Jesus lived a peaceful life and had a strong work ethic in which he passed on to his children. He was a devout Catholic and attended mass several times per week. He served the church for the majority of his life as he had a profound love for the Lord. Our family is deeply saddend by the passing of Jesus, yet we are also filled with joy with the knowledge that he is now in the presence of the Lord and reunited with Carmen. He is survived by his brother Antonio Garnica Uvence, 95 years old of Fillmore, CA and his sister Esperanza Garnica, 93years old of La Ladera, Michoacan, Mexico. He is also survived by his daughter Maria Martin and her husband Jose of Bonita, CA. His eldest son Jose Luis Garnica and his wife Precita of Manassas, VA. His son Jesse Garnica and his wife Norma of Camarillo, CA. His son Arturo Garnica and his wife Rocio of Brea, CA. His youngest son Michael Garnica and his wife Francisca of Camarillo, CA. He is survived by 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren along with many other nieces and nephews extended family and friends. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. 9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. Ecc 3:1-14
