Jesus Franco Oxnard, CA With great Sadness but also peace in our hearts , our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather also known as "Tata" Jesus G. Franco has passed away peacefully on July 13 2010 at 95 years old surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was born on June 14 1915 Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. At the age of 8 years old he and his family resided in Los Angeles. At the age of 14 his family moved to Oxnard. He was a resident of Oxnard for 81 years. On November 3rd, 1942 he was a PFC in the 18th Infantry Realment. He served in the battles of Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe , and Aleutian Islands. He received many medals for his service. Well in the Army on July 15 ,1944 he became a proud United States citizen. In 1946 he received his honorable discharge. When Jesus returned to Oxnard he married Sarah Trujillo. They where married for 55 years. Until her passing on December 17, 2009. He worked at the Port Hueneme base Civil Service for 36 years . Jess was a member of the American Legion, Teamsters Union and Knights of Columbus Council #750. He was also the president of the Dempsy Mutual Water Company. He was an Usher for St. Anthony's 9:00 am Mass for more than 25 years. He is survived by his loving daughter Leticia, who spent every moment with him and never left his side. ALso his son in law Greg Alvarez who will treasure his memories forever, daughter in law Rebecca his Grandchildren who were his everything, his life; Daniella, Gregory, Amanda, Serina Alvarez, Anitinia, Gustavo, and six Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. One sister Cleo, Bright Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his son Guastavo who went to the Lord in 1986. He will live in our hearts forever and will be truly missed and the memories we have of "Tata" will truly last us a lifetime. Thank you to the Sister Servants of many who helped out "Tata" and family spiritually though the good and hard times. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm - 3:30pm at Perez Family Funeral Home on tuesday July 20. Rosary will be held at St Anthony's Church in Oxnard Mass to be held at St Anthony;s Church on Wednesday July 21 at 10:00 am. Internment to Follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
