Javier Alfaro Sr aka Smiley died on March 9, 2016 at 10:33 pm after a yearlong battle with worsening heart problems. Javier was born on September 24, 1963 in Ventura, CA to Martin and Francis Alfaro, who precedes him in death. Growing up in a big family Javie understood that family was everything and one must always have faith. After living a checkered past and being given a second chance to live a better life he used the opportunity to help those that were making poor choices. Taking much pride in his work with the Hope Boys, he touched many young lives in our community and became a motivational speaker.
He is survived by his siblings John, Ruben, Delia, Sylvia, Paul, Teresa and Danny. His legacy will live on through his children Triny, Javier Jr and Isaac, adopted children Jessica and Julieanne, as well as the additional number of individuals he was a father figure to. Javier was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend to many. His presence will be missed by many but we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and now is reunited with those we have lost over the years.
Funeral arrangements have been made through Perez Funeral Home in Camarillo. Public viewing will be held on March 20, 2016 at 4-6pm followed by a wake at 6pm with coffee and snacks to follow. Please join the family to celebrate Javier’s life and share your favorite memory of your time with my father.
