Jan Richards, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Jan was born March 28, 1946 in Newton, Iowa to parents Frank and Blanch Krouse. She married Bill Richards in July 31, 2005 in Ventura, CA.

Jan was born and raised in Iowa and came to California as an adult. She graduated from nursing school in Iowa and from there she enlisted in the army. She served as an Army Lieutenant in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1969.  Jan was a registered nurse for 35 years.

Jan loved to work in her gorgeous garden.  She also helped many women get through difficult times.  She was an amazing mentor and a woman filled with spiritual wisdom. One of her last trips was to the Women’s Viet Nam Veterans Memorial in 2018.  Jan was a creative artist and created many beautifully decorated gourds throughout the years and received several awards. 

She is survived by her husband Bill Richards, son’s Matt and Chris Wyatt and their father Larry Wyatt; granddaughter Holly June Wyatt; brother-in-law Richard Wanush and nephews Mike and Dan Wanush.

Services will be held at Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo, CA, on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
