Janean Stephens Huss, 74, passed away peacefully in her home in Santa Rosa Valley, CA on June 3, 2023 surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her son, Zach, grandson, Derrick, and brother, Craig. Janean is survived by 5 children: Jennifer (Scott), April (Andrew), Aleisha (Steve), Andria (Wesley), and Jed (Erin); 15 grandchildren: Leanna, Mitchell, Brycen, Hallie, Zane, Brooklynn, Maxwell, Vienna, Marina, Natalie, Noah, Nicholas, Emma, Ryder, and Fisher; 2 great-grandchildren: Brody and Dax; and 2 sisters: Linda and Lynette.
Janean was born and raised in Ogden, Utah and was a disciple of Jesus Christ and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various jobs before getting married at the age of 20, but none was more important to her than being a mom and homemaker. Her family was her number one priority. She was loving, creative, patient, crafty, and service-oriented. Throughout her life, she fulfilled many leadership and service callings in her church. Once her children were all grown, she became an apartment manager. She thrived in this capacity as well and was greatly loved by her tenants. She spent countless hours visiting her children and getting to know each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made them feel special, and they knew she loved them deeply. Janean had this ability with all who knew her; they felt her love and sincerity. Her absence on earth is profound and she is greatly missed by all who were blessed with her influence and kindness in their lives.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3645 N. Moorpark Rd. in Thousand Oaks on June 16, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Janean will be laid to rest during a private family interment in Lompoc, CA.
