Jaime Argueta Malagon, a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 19, 2024. Jaime was 61 years old at the time of his passing, having lived a full, accomplished, and extraordinary life. Throughout his life and up until the very end, Jaime maintained a devotion to family and God.
A resident of Visalia, Jaime was born on September 16, 1962 to Carmen Ramati and Ricarda Malagon. He was raised in Spain and Mexico, and later resided in Santa Paula and Fillmore. He is a graduate of Santa Paula High School.
Jaime enlisted both in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He served his country honorably for 26 years. He served as a Navy SEAL and infantryman, respectively. He served proudly in the Iraq Gulf War, also known as Operation Desert Storm. In response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, he was deployed to Afghanistan. These two were just two of many deployments in his military service career. He was awarded various distinguished medals, such as the Bronze Star with valor and Purple Heart for his bravery and heroism. He held his military brothers dear to his heart.
Jaime was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and hunting. He was also proficient in weaponry and enjoyed shooting. He was passionate about soccer and was a fan of the Chivas soccer team. His other interests included playing guitar, singing, building model airplanes and tending to his garden. His cherished moments were spending time with loved ones, barbequing ribs and tri-tip, roughhousing with his grandchildren, and sharing humorous stories.
Jaime is survived by his loving wife of almost 27 years Esperanza “Esper,” his children, Jaime Hans, Jadyra, Jammel, Jamie, and Tara, his step-sons, Alexander Nunez and Michael Nunez, his three grandchildren, Marcell, Lynnell, and Aristelle, and numerous siblings, nephews and nieces.
Jaime was admired and respected by his friends, and people who knew him. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his tremendous love for his family, and for serving his country. He will be profoundly missed. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle leaves behind an amazing legacy that will live on for generations to come.
