Henry M. Velasquez

Henry “Pio” Velasquez 82, went home to be with his lord Jesus Christ Saturday June 13, 2015. Henry passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was a lifelong Ventura County resident and made Saticoy his home for 53 years. Henry was born on May 5, 1933 in Oxnard, Ca to Henry Velasquez Sr. and Maria Gandarilla. After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War he learned his passion of welding. He was a lifelong welder retiring from Vetco Company. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially singing when he had the opportunity and loved watching his favorite sport of boxing. Henry is survived by his wife of 53 years Trinidad Velasquez, sons Henry and Steve Velasquez and daughter Cathy Natascio, granddaughter Tara Romero whom he raised as well as four other grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his daughters Olivia, Lisa Velasquez and Nancy Romero, grandson A.J Romero. Our family would like to give our sincerest gratitude to Pasqual Rivas (Brother in law) for taking such wonderful care of Tio Henry.
