Helen Koehn, a resident of Camarillo, passed away peacefully on May 27th. She was born June 12, 1929 in Eugene, Oregon to Lena and Alvin Bryant. Her father passed away when she was very young and she was raised and inspired by her step-father Guy Canady. Helen was married to Howard Koehn, the love of her life; they had 5 children: Gary Koehn, Jacque Trembly, Brian (Gina) Koehn, Candee (Chip) Messmore and Tracy (Bruce) Stevens; they had eleven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Family was the number one priority in Helen’s life.
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister was one of the most loving, giving, compassionate people on earth. She was always there to give her support and extra set of hands, never one to take credit or accolades, just wanting to be of help. She was truly happiest when she was busy. Helen spent countless hours supporting her children and grand children at sporting events and was involved in Job’s Daughter’s and DeMolay organizations. Helen and Howard moved to Leisure Village in 2004. Since moving there, they have made many treasured friends and participated in multiple activities and clubs. Helen’s legacy to all of us is the way she showed us how to unconditionally love and respect your family and friends.
Helen is survived by her spouse of 57 years, Howard Koehn, and her children as noted above
Helen is also survived by her (2) sisters Barbara (Ted) Hull and Patsy Lawrence, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lena Canady; father, Alvin Bryant, step-father, Guy Canady and brother, Chet Bryant.
Per Helen’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society, Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice or your favorite charity in her memory.
