Gregorio “Gollo” Alday (1929-2021)
Our Dad, Gregorio Alday was born May 25, 1929 in Aurora Coahuila Mexico and peacefully went home with the Lord July 1, 2021. Our Dad came to the U.S. in the 1950’s and lived in Fillmore for over 60 years. He loved music; the outdoors, biking, hiking, gambling and enjoyed a few drinks. He played various instruments but the saxophone was his joy as he started playing since his early teenage years. Dad is survived by Mom, Paula Alday and daughter and sons; Lupe Alday-Acero, Rafael and Fidel Alday; grand- children; Vanessa, Jake and Josh Acero, Gerardo and Alex Alday and Giovanni Alday. He is also survived by two beautiful great-grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart; Nate and Sophie Alday. We will miss him every day of our lives; our hearts are filled with so many wonderful memories that will remain with us forever. Dad would like to be remembered with joy and cheer. The memorial services will be held at Perez Family Funeral Home Sunday July 25, 2021 (4:00 p.m – 8:00p.m.); mass on Monday July 26th at 10:00 a.m. Following the grave side service at Bardsdale Cemetery, we are holding a “Celebration of Life” with Birria (Dad’s favorite), Drinks and Live Music to remember and honor 92 Years of Life. (Address: 824 Wileman Street in Fillmore).
