Gregoria L. Roa
March 1923- June 2015
Gregoria also known as “Mama Goya”, 92, born in Chihuahua, Mexico peacefully passed away in her home in Oxnard, California on Saturday June 6, 2015. Mama Goya was the third of seven and eldest of the girls. Her last two years were spent living under her daughter’s care where she was often surrounded by her grandchildren and many great great-grandchildren. Mama Goya attended all of the family events where she loved to dance and sing many of her favorite songs.
Mama Goya is survived by her two sons Manuel and Felipe Roa, her daughter Maria Carrillo, 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and her youngest sister Maria L. Sanchez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Lopez and Felipe Lopez, five brothers and sisters, Jose B. Lopez, Lino B. Lopez, Vicente B. Lopez, Inez B. Lopez and Rafaela Lopez de Flores, two grandsons Manuel Roa Jr. and Michael Anthony Carrillo, and the man who deeply loved her, Antonio O. Macias.
Memorial services will be held at Perez Mortuary in Camarillo on Monday June 8, 2015, with the rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday June 9, 2015, Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, followed by the burial at Santa Clara Cemetery.
