IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS WE ANNOUNCE THE LOSS OF OUR BELOVED MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER,GREAT GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER , GLORIA C MARTIN SURROUNDED BY HER LOVING FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT HER HOME ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2009. GLORIA WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND POLICARPIO S. MARTIN, SON’S CESAR AND BILLY MARTIN, HER MOTHER CARMELITA S. ZAMUDIO AND GRANDSON ANGEL MARTIN. GLORIA WAS BORN TO CARMELITA ZAMUDIO AND ADOLFO CASTILLO ON JANUARY 21,1931, IN CALEXICO, CALIFORNIA. WHERE SHE MET HER HUSBAND POLICARPIO SIMON MARTIN WHO CAME TO THE UNITED STATES AT THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN ALONG WITH HIS OLDER BROTHER VALERIANO S. MARTIN FROM THE PHILLIPINE ISLANDS. AFTER A SHORT COURTSHIP THEY WERE MARRIED BY THE JUSTICE OF THE PEACE IN NEW MEXICO AND AGAIN THROUGH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN WATSONVILLE WHERE THEY LIVED AND STARTED A FAMILY OF SEVEN: CARMEN, JUANITA, CATALINA, MANUEL, BILLY, ESTRELLA AND CESAR. GLORIA WAS A DEVOTED MOTHER AND STAYED HOME TO RAISE ALL HER CHILDREN. BOTH POLICARPIO AND GLORIA LOVED TO HAVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS DURING THE HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL OCCASIONS IN THEIR HOME; THEY ENJOYED LAUGHING, SINGING, DANCING AND HAVING A DELICIOUS MEAL FOR ALL TO ENJOY. THOSE WERE GREAT TIMES AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET THEM. DAD WOULD SPOIL MOM, HE TREATED HER LIKE THE QUEEN HE ALWAYS DID THE COOKING AND EVERY MORNING LIKE CLOCKWORK; HE PREPARED MOM’S COFFEE THE WAY SHE LIKED IT. HE ALWAYS SERVED HER FIRST BEFORE HE SAT DOWN. THIS HE DID FOR MOM UNTIL HE LEFT TO BE WITH OUR SAVIOR. WE KNOW MOM MISSED DAD VERY MUCH AND COULDN’T WAIT TO SEE HIM AGAIN AND WE KNOW DAD, BILLY, CESAR, NANA HER MOTHER, LITTLE SWEET ANGEL (HER GRANDSON), AND FLORENTINA FRANCO WERE WAITING FOR HER AT THE HEAVENLY GATES TO ESCORT MOM IN. IT MUST HAVE BEEN SOME PARTY. MOM LOVED HER FAMILY VERY MUCH AND ALL OUR FRIENDS ADORED MOM. MOM TREATED THEM LIKE HER OWN CHILDREN. GLORIA IS SURVIVED BY FIVE OF THE SEVEN CHILDREN: CARMEN(ROGER) ROWLAND,JUANITA(ROBERT) MARTIN, CATALINA GRAY, MANUEL(ELIZABETH)MARTIN, ESTRELLA MADRID. TWENTY TWO GRANDCHILDREN, GERALD, RICHARD, RANDY(LYON),MICHAEL, AMERICA, DEREK, ANNETTE, HENRY, YOLANDA, DIANA,ANTHONY, CRYSTAL, ERIC, VICTOR, MANUEL, REYNA, MONIQUE, CESAR, ANDREA, NICOLANI, SANDRA, VERONICA, APRIL, CAPRI, DAVID AND ANDREA. FORTY GREAT GRAND CHILDREN AND SIX GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN (WHO WILL NEVER GET TO KNOW OUR BELOVED MOTHER) AN ONLY CHILD SHE LEAVES TWO 1ST COUSINS; FERNANDO ZAMUDIO AND MANUEL CESAR ZAMUDIO. MOM, NANA, GREAT NANA, GREAT-GREAT NANA YOU WILL DEARLY BE MISSED. YOU WILL BE FOREVER A VOID IN OUR LIVES AND FOR ALL THOSE YOU TOUCHED; THEY WILL REMEMBER YOU WITH LOVING MEMORIES. GOD LOOKED AROUND THE GARDEN AND FOUND AN EMPTY SPACE. HE LOOKED DOWN UPON THE EARTH AND SAW YOUR TIRED FACE. HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND YOU AND LIFTED YOU TO REST.
