Gertrude Ann Fairchild

Gertrude A. Fairchild On Wednesday August 17th, Gertrude (Trudie) Fairchild was lifted up from a lengthy illness to rejoin friends and family who preceded her to God’s kingdom. Her parents, Anne and Edward Hobbis celebrated Trudie’s birth in Perth Amboy, New Jersey December 21, 1933. She attended high school in Miami, Florida, graduating in 1951. Several years later she moved to California, where she met her husband of 49 years, Chauncey (Chance) Fairchild. Together they saw most of the United States during his career in the Marines. Trudie embraced her faith and she was a faithful and energetic servant of Mount Cross Lutheran Church for thirty years. Survivors include her husband Chance, her sister Jeanne Steele, her son Michael (and Dianne) Fairchild, daughter Patricia (and Bernie) Haberer and granddaughters Alexandria, Rachael and Samantha Fairchild. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Cross Lutheran Church, 102 Camino Esplendido, Camarillo. In lieu of flowers, please know that Trudie would be pleased by donations to Mount Cross Lutheran Church in her name.
