Freddy Dijor

It is with great sadness, the family of Freddy Prince Dijor announce his unexpected passing on August 4, 2023 at age 30. Freddy passed away of a drug overdose after a long battle with addiction. Freddy had a heart of gold; anyone from his childhood or adult life could confirm he was generous, kind, funny, charismatic, selfless, and always tried to find the positive in any situation. In turn, doing his best to block out the negatives, which is where his addiction came into play. Drugs offered Freddy an escape from his demons that he faced throughout his life. 

He thrived after moving forward and worked hard to conquer his addiction with his family, sponsors, friends, girlfriend, and support system who meant so much to him. Freddy’s love was fiercely intense, and his love was unconditional. He met people where they were at in their life and was never judgmental on where they came from or where they were going.

His family would like to speak the truth about his death. Silence would mean Freddy‘s death was in vain, but if one person‘s life is saved by his story, we would tell it a 1 million more times. We know the pain of his suffering. We know the pain of our own suffering as his family, and we know there are hundreds of other people here in our community suffering as addicts or as loved ones to them. Speaking the truths, no matter the circumstances surrounding the epidemic of drug use, may be the difference between life and death for someone. In honor of Freddy‘s life, we ask that truth be spread in regard to this epidemic and awareness to be raised.

There will be a private viewing for the family at the Perez Family Funeral Home Friday, August 11th. The celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 12th 5-7 PM at: 2660 E. Main St., Ventura, CA 93003.  After the celebration of life, we will go to the beach to release prayer balloons.
