On December 31, 2016 Flora Lovio Garcia passed away surrounded by her loving family at Saint John’s Hospital in Oxnard, CA.
Flora was born on June 27, 1936 and just celebrated her 80th birthday this past Summer. She met the love of her life, Phillip Garcia in 1956 and they were married on May 3, 1958 at St. Sebastian Church in Santa Paula. They had known and loved each other for more than 60 years!
Flora is survived by her beloved husband, Phillip “Perry” Garcia and her 3 children Robert Garcia, Roxanne G. Silva and Randy Garcia. Additionally, she is survived by a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, godchildren, and extended family & dear friends.
She was a long-time employee of Heublien, Inc. (aka La Chileria) for more than 20 years.
Of all the wonderful memories to be cherished some of the best were watching her get all dressed up for a date with Perry, to dance the night away. She truly was the BEST dancer. She loved a good BBQ get-together, road trip to Vegas, and celebrating special occasions with family & friends. Flora honestly never met a party she didn’t like! She exemplified a life well lived.
This lovely woman meant so much to so many. She was always there for a friend in need. During her illness, it became clear how many she had touched. So many came forward to be of support to her and her loved ones.
The Garcia family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and prayers at this difficult time. It is truly appreciated.
The celebration of her life will be held with a rosary prayer beginning at 9:30 am & funeral mass beginning at 10:00 am on Thursday January 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura. The burial service will then follow at approximately 11:00 am at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
Flora has been entrusted to the care of Perez Family Funeral Home.
