Eugenie Voss

d. June 2, 2015

Eugenie Voss Howard (February 7, 1919-June 2, 2015) made stepping stones. Many stepping stones for many youngsters to climb higher than they ever dreamed they could. As mentor to many under-privileged, she quietly paid and paved the way to higher education and opened the world of ideas , music, and aspirations to them. She was such a force of nature! What an example of dedication to her teaching profession, to the importance of teaching music in the schools and to the New West Symphony. Eugenia was in every way a woman ahead of her time. A private pilot of considerable expertise, an Independant professional person with determination and zeal. The New West should do something special in her honour. She helped me start all of the education programs: fund raised, program planned, and always a standard bearer for quality. I will remember her always with the greatest fondness. Eugenie is survived by her brother Henry Daniel Voss Jr., her niece Evette DeMarco Swinson and many family members including nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews who dance and live their lives in remembrance of her. Services will be held in her honor on Friday June 12, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Perez Family Funeral Chapel, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo, CA. 93010 and on Saturday June 13, 2015 at 10:00am at the Acheson and Graham Garden Chapel, 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside CA. 92506. A graveside service will be held immediately following the Riverside service at Olivewood Memorial Park, 3300 Central Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506. Refreshments will be served at the Chapels following the services at both locations. Isn't it strange that Princes and Kings And clowns that caper in sawdust rings, And common folk like you and me, Are Builders of Eternity? To each is given a bag of tools, A shapeless mass and a book of rules; And each must make, ere life has flown, A stumbling block or a stepping stone. Assisting the family with funeral arrangements is the Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo. Tel: (805) 983-3457.
