Esther Ida Ramirez
With great sadness and love in our hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Esther Ida Ramirez, age 82. She was born on January 12, 1936 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Jesus and Emmelina Banuelos. She was surrounded by her loving family in Bakersfield, California, as she went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2018.
Our mother is survived by and will be dearly missed by her loving daughters, Sandra Ramirez; Lori Ann Navarro (husband, Eusebio Jr.); Amanda Ramirez (Life Partner, Henry Cordova); Melissa Ramirez; and her baby brother, Raudel Joe (Wife, Juanita) Banuelos.
She was lovingly called “Lamboots” by her grandchildren. Grandchildren are the blessings of a long life and she was blessed with 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Ramirez, daughters, Edith Yvonne (“Bonnie”) Hurtado; Cynthia Ramirez; Annette Aguirre; son, Rodney (“Turk”) Ramirez; and grandson, Arthur (“PeeWee”) Garcia.
She was known for her amazing homemade tortillas, beans and yes, her very, very “hot” chile con carne. She will be remembered by her contagious laugh and beautiful smile and cheerful personality.
Our mother was a true blessing and will be fondly remembered and missed by her family, numerous nieces, nephews, and all who knew and loved her.
Thank you to all family and friends for praying for our family during this difficult time. Special appreciation to our sister, Amanda who unselfishly loved and cared for our mother.
While we have peace in knowing she is no longer in pain and set free, it is with heavy hearts that we say our final goodbye to our Mom.
