Mia Steinfeld, was born Emelia Maria Lopez, on June 27, 1914. Her parents were both newly arrived immigrants to America residing in Santa Monica, when Mia joined her older sibling, Josephine, and later her younger sister Margarita. The family continued to live in Santa Monica, where Mia received her education through high school and after graduating, attended Santa Monica College. In 1942, she married Raymond J. Steinfeld and had three children. Mia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother until she died on October 31, 2009. Her daughters, Patricia Sheldon and Katie Rice, along with their husbands currently live in Manhattan Beach, California. Her son Robert Steinfeld and his wife live in Hanford, California, along with Mia's great-grand children. Her grandsons, Scot is now serving in Afghanistan, while Ryan lives in Oregon with her great-granddaughter. In closing, a funeral mass was held on November 14, 2009 where family and many friends attended to say their goodbyes. Mia will join her husband, Raymond at Our Lady of the Angeles Cathedral in Los Angeles, where they will be together forever.
