Edward Joseph Cassese, 88, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He was born December 3, 1928 in Bronx, New York. The youngest son of Vincent & Lillian LoRusso Cassese. He was raised and educated in Bronx, N.Y. until he was drafted into the Army in 1950. He is an Army Veteran of the Korean War. In his youth Ed was a Golden Glove Boxer & Once Drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Ed married Blanche Bugros in 1951 and raised 3 children, Edward Jr., Michael and adopted Stepson Mario. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Joseph, wife Blanche, son Eddie Jr and Stepson Mario. He married Theresa Stephens in 1987. He was employed by Librascope as a journeyman electrician and retired in 1993.
Ed is survived by his wife, Terry, son Michael, Grandchildren, Jocelyn, Crystal, Adria & Desirae Cassese and Bill & Andy Nunez. Stepchildren, Debbie (Dave) Saunders, Bobby (Lisa) Stephens, Chris (Laureen) Stephens. Step grandchildren, David (Amy) Saunders, Brian (Catherine) Saunders, Trevor, Kira, Cade, Drew and Taylor Stephens.
Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus #9969 and the Elks #2477. He lived a full life and was blessed with a loving family and friends. His sense of humor, optimism, guidance, friendship and generosity will be forever missed and never forgotten.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 25th from 5-9pm with the Rosary beginning at 7pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home Chapel, 887 Patriot Drive Suite H in Moorpark.
Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 26th at 11am located at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark.
