Dorothy May Stabile, 79, of Moorpark and Simi Valley, passed away on April 17, 2013, at home, in the arms of her grandDAUGHTER, Dorthea (Sissy). Dorothy was born in St. Louis Missouri on Feb. 6,1934. She graduated from Roosevelt High school before coming to California at the age of 18 with her best friend, Maxine. They moved to Hollywood where she met the love of her life, Joseph Stabile and they soon married and started a family, giving birth to a daughter,Santa in 1955. Then in 1957 Dorothy's stepdaughter Donna Marie, age 7, came to live with them after her Mother passed away. Dorothy and her husband moved to Simi Valley in 1976 when they took guardianship of their two grandchildren, Joey and Dorothea (Sissy) ages 5 and 4, to give them a better life. Dorothy has been a resident of Ventura county ever since. Overcoming so many challenges while continuing to dedicate her whole life to her family, and even After the loss of her husband, at her young age of 52, in 1986 and her daughter in 1988, Dorothy was married to Joseph on July 16, 1954, they were married 32 yrs prior to his passing. She was faced with many challenges and had to overcome many adversities, but she still dedicated her whole life to her family and continued to be there for not only more of her grandkids, but helped raise her greatgranddaughter, Kimme as well. Never seeking another companion for herself. Then, at the age of 72, helped in the adoption process and care taking of her 3 month old greatgranddaughter, Noel. Dorothy was one of the strongest women you will ever come across in a lifetime. She has shown what it means to be dedicated and committed to family no matter what, and
that as long as you have love, and each other, you have all that you need.
Dorothy worked as a Lead computer board assembler for Data Products for a number of years, prior to getting injured, resulting in early retirement. She enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, talking politics, listening to Kimme's long stories and just spending time TOGETHER with her "kids". She enjoyed her new found church, Christ Chapel of the Valley.
Dorothy's Visitations will be held at Perez Family Mortuary, MOORPARK (887 Patriot Drive, Moorpark, Saturday April 27, 2013 starting at 10:00am1:00pm. Burial will follow the at San Fernando Mission Cemetery at 2:00pm, where Pastor Jerrell Walls (of Christ Chapel of the Valley) will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Perez Family Mortuary of Moorpark.
Dorothy is survived by her GrandDAUGHTER, Dorothea Suzanne Trask, Greatgranddaughters Kimme Ella Trask and Noel Krystal Trask (Terry Smith); Grandson, Joseph Steven Gonzales; Greatgrandson, Michael Raymond Snow Ferguson, Granddaughters Jennifer Harney and Jordan Youngdahl; Stepdaughter DonnaMarie and husband Shawn Ellis, Grandsons, Erick Voght (wife Debbie)& 3 greatgranddaughters, Megan, Victoria and Alexis; Phillip Voght (wife Claire) & greatgranddaughter Charlotte; Her sister; Betty Jacobs, and Best friend; Maxine Reed. Extended family; Ann Mitchell and Billy Star; Glenda and Erick Ferguson. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, daughter Santa, father Arthur Kimme and granddaughters Krystal and Virginia, and very dear friends; Lillian and David Mitchell; and Teresa Rice (honey).
