Donna Lou Cady

Donna L. Cady quietly passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, after a long fight with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Independence, Mo., on Jan. 28, 1935. Donna, her husband, Bill Cady, and family arrived in Ventura County in 1965. She was a compassionate and caring person and always tried to make others feel comfortable, cared for, and welcome. Donna enjoyed oil painting and excelled in home decorating. She was devoted to her family, her faithful pet Shih Tzu, Sally, and a true fan of shopping, the beach, gardening, and wonderful friends. She had many, many years of enjoyment after retiring to stay home and care for and guide her only granddaughter, Laura. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cady; father, Benjamin McDaniel Sr.; and brothers, Frank and Benjamin McDaniel Jr. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Terri Harris; loving granddaughter, Lara Harris; faithful sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Leo St. Hilaire; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Our heartfelt thanks to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice care nurses for their ever reassuring help and presence. In accordance with Donna’s wishes, services will be private, arrangements by Perez Family Funeral Home, Camarillo. Calif. The pain is great, but the memories are greater, and the love will remain. We will miss her very much.
