Donna Marie Boensch passed away with loved ones by her side on June 26, 2016, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents June and John Weldon, and husband Carmen Boensch. Donna is survived by her daughters Marie and Rose Boensch, her siblings Patrick (Kyla) Weldon, Jack (Donna) Weldon, Dan Weldon and Junemarie (Tom) Justus, along with her caring boyfriend, Don Weaver, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Donna was born on August 22, 1950 in Chicago, IL. She was a loving mother, sweet sister, dedicated nurse, patient teacher, talented artist, avid reader, bird lover, Mensa whiz, Dr. Who fan, and wonderful cook. Donna also enjoyed antiques, nature, camping, dancing, landscape gardening, and was especially proud of her pond.
Throughout her nursing career as an LVN, Donna practiced Home Health, along with Clinical, Prison, and Hospice nursing. She also received her BA in Business Management and became a Program Director and Corporate Trainer for GSUSA. Honoring her lifelong passion for art, Donna founded a 501.c3 Art School where she partnered with local school districts to develop curriculum and provide art instruction. She taught many adoring elementary and junior high art students. Throughout her life, Donna cared for and touched many people. A resilient and determined individual, Donna’s kind soul will be missed, as will her Christmas cookies, Rum Cake, and Stuffed Artichokes.
