Donald St. Clair

d. October 8, 2012

Donald “Don” E. St. Clair Moorpark, CA Don St.Clair passed away at his home in Moorpark, CA early Monday morning, October 8, 2012. Although peaceful, his passing was sudden and unexpected. Don was 62 years old. While he had been ill for some time, his diagnosis was pending at the time of his passing. Don was born February 24, 1950 in the city of Ventura to Leeila (Doran) and Melvin St.Clair. He was a graduate of Ventura High School class of 1968 and Ventura Community College. Don graduated from California State University at Hayward in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. In 1976, Don proudly opened St.Clair and Associates, an Accounting Firm servicing small businesses located in Thousand Oaks, CA, which primarily served the County of Ventura and other outlining areas. His longtime and loyal clients enjoyed his personal touch and caring attitude. Don fathered four beautiful children: Christopher Patrick “Chris”, Matthew Michael “Matt”, John Thomas “JT” and Kathleen Ann Elizabeth “Katie”. Don married Suzanne “Sue” Lasley Oxford, the love of his life, in 1996. Sue’s children: Krystal Lynn (Brian) Bailey and James Leonard “Jim” (Natasha Trill) were a delight in Don’s life. And most recently Don was getting to spend some quality time with his grandson, Mason Bailey. Don loved life!! His interests were: golf, traveling in his motor home, watching football and baseball, barbecuing with family and friends, reading, Sudoku, enjoying Country music, trips to Las Vegas with his buddies, hanging out at the beach, riding his Harley Davidson, and sporting cowboy boots and Tommy Bahama shirts. Most of all, he loved helping people and spending time with family and friends at his home. One close relative described Don was a "happy nerd" that turned into Waylon Jennings on Friday night! Don is survived by his wife Sue of 17 years, his children, Chris, Matt, JT, Katie, Jim, and Krystal. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Thomas, and his beloved Golden Retriever Luke. Don was an incredibly loving man, who was very generous and one with a big heart. All who knew him will miss him dearly. They will miss his love for the Boston Red Sox, San Diego Chargers, and playing rounds of golf. His clients will miss his common sense approach to financial planning and preparing for the future. A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 3:30 - 6:30 at Moorpark Country Club, 11800 Championship Drive, Moorpark, CA.
