Dolores Violet Patno

d. August 9, 2010

Dolores Patno, 76, after a short known battle with breast cancer, passed away on August 9, 2010, in time to celebrate her husband Gene’s birthday with him in Heaven on August 13. Gene will be delighted to show her around and continue their journey together. Born May 3, 1934 to Henry and Edith Pauling, she married her lifelong husband Eugene Warren Patno in October 1955 in Blue Island, Illinois, until his death in 2006. Dolores always felt that her biggest accomplishment was helping to raise her three children: Brian, Desirée and Regan. Her dedication to her children extended to helping them discover their interests through countless after school activities and lessons. Brian earned a college scholarship in swimming and water polo; Desirée modeled and won numerous accolades in Real Estate; and Regan danced on several national television shows, including “Solid Gold.” Dolores had a varied career. At one point, she developed an extensive inventory processing system known as “Transaction Tracking” for the US Navy, yet her true passion was manifested through her creative pursuits. Well into her 60's Dolores decided to go into showbiz! She appeared in a movie under the stage name Agatha Downing, she worked as a principle in a Screen Actors Guild commercial, and she appeared in high fashion magazine advertisements created by world famous photographer David LaChapelle. In addition, she won several awards at local county fairs with her crochet creations with several of her creative designs inspirational within women’s fashion. The home she and Gene shared was something of a local landmark in Camarillo Heights, California, being featured in local newspapers over several decades. Designed by Dolores and hand-built by Gene, the home was filled with custom-designed stained and beveled glass windows. She is survived by two younger sisters, Laurel Tichenor and Eileen Iverson; three children, Brian, Desirée and Regan; eight grandchildren, Eric Matthew Patno, Noelle Marie Patno, Sean Daniel Patno, Sarah Kathleen Patno, Joshua Elan Roberts, Nathaniel Travis Roberts, Aristotle Jayemiah Bobby Jones, and Odysseus Sebastién Remington Jones; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, niece and cousins.
