Deborah Joy McCormick-Conklin
Our beloved Debbi went back to the arms of her loving Father in Heaven on January 30, 2009. She passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side. The Lord blessed this world with an angel when Debbi was born on January 23, 1953 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Debbi's heart overflowed with love for all living things. She was truly a child of God who loved nature, animals and beautiful sunsets. She even cried when a tree from her yard needed to be cut down. Kind hearted, compassionate and giving, Debbi was always there for her family and friends. Even in her time of greatest need, she continued thinking of others and their comfort and safety.
Debbi had a zest for life and recognized at a very young age that her purpose in life was to serve the Lord. Fun loving and creative, Debbi was passionate in her many pursuits. As a young lady she was called to dance, and dance she did! Ballet was her passion and she danced while at college at UCSB, at the John Ford Theatre and displayed her talent performing overseas with the USO Show tour. Debbi worked for twenty years in the emergency room at the Valley Hospital where her caring and compassionate ways brought a sense of calm and peace to everyone she came in contact with. Whether hosting "fairy princess" parties for neighborhood little girls or dressing in costume for the Renaissance Faire, her caring and generous heart shined like a beacon for everyone to enjoy.
Debbi's commitment to studying God's word was her lifelong pursuit. She lived her life with love, friendship, perserverance, hope and above all --- faith. Thank you Debbi for being a shining example of God's love each and every day. We know you are now dancing, laughing and will continue to look after us. Debbi, you will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
Debbi will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted husband, Tom Conklin, son Jerod (Alissa) Whiteley, grandson Jaxson James "JJ" Whiteley, mother Margie, brothers Del McCormick and Darric (Sue) McCormick and cherished niece, Heather McCormick.
