David Hendricks

David Ray Hendricks, 74, of Oxnard, California passed away on November 16th, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. A beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, David will always be remembered for his kindness and his selfless nature, being a great provider and always putting his family’s needs first. 

David was born on October 12, 1950, to Starr and Nellie Hendricks in Ventura, CA. After graduating from Rio Mesa High School in 1968 David went to the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War where he earned his Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor. 

In 1974 David met the love of his life Aurora in Oxnard, CA. David and Aurora went on to have two sons Chris and Starr. 

 In 2010 David retired from the City of Oxnard Water Division after 24 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed golfing with his wife and best friend Reyno, traveling with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. 

 David was preceded in death by his parents Starr and Nellie Hendricks and his brother William Starr Jr. He is survived by his wife Aurora Hendricks, Children Chris Hendricks and his wife Brenda Hendricks, Starr Hendricks and his wife Alexa Hendricks, grandchildren Mariah, Allie, Starr and Bear, sister Kathy Starlene Coleman and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Services will be held at Perez Family Funeral Home in Camarillo, CA on Tuesday November 26th, 2024, at 11 AM followed by burial at Conejo Mountain Cemetery in Camarillo, CA. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in honor of David to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital an organization dear to our hearts.
