Daniel Patrick Zamora, our beloved brother and uncle, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday morning, February 17, 2020. Danny was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 3, 1960 to Baltazar and Carole Zamora. He was their first born.
When Danny was a young boy, the family relocated to California where they eventually made Simi Valley their home. Danny loved his hometown and chose to live there his entire life.
Danny enjoyed playing little league baseball and was a star pitcher who often made the local newspaper because of his ability to consistently pitch no-hitters. His love of baseball and sports continued on. Danny could often be found watching his favorite local teams, the Dodgers and Lakers, on the big screen in his garage with his best friend, Johnny Velasquez. He enjoyed betting on these games and also had a special passion for horse racing.
In his late teens, he began following in his father’s footsteps of becoming a professional lather, which he continued for approximately 35 years.
Danny appreciated the simple things in life such as conversations with his family and friends. He was a great story teller with a great sense of humor. He was “Uncle Danny” to many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Danny is survived by his two sisters, Lisa Jones and Debra Milewski; his brother, Steven Zamora; two brothers-in-law, Steve Jones and Frank Milewski; sister-in-law, Heidi Zamora; and girlfriend, Samantha Howerton. Danny was blessed with two nephews and five nieces, five great-nieces and one great-great niece.
Danny will be greatly missed and always in our hearts.
