Curtis Ray Bybee
March 1, 1969 – September 28, 2022
On September 28, 2022, Curtis Ray Bybee, 53, son of Eckel and Jacqueline (Moore) Bybee, passed away of a short illness in Ventura, California surrounded by his family and friends by his side.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and older brother, Steven Kevin Bybee.
Curtis was a resident of Oxnard, California for 53 years and is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 37 years, Stephanie (Sevier) Bybee.
Curtis worked in the heating and air conditioning industry for almost 30 years before he was forced into early retirement. He enjoyed playing poker, traveling, scuba diving, attending his yearly fishing trips and playing with his grandchildren.
For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing him, you know that he was considered the life of the party and he was loyal to a fault.
He leaves behind a rich legacy that includes his sons Charles Sevier and Kurt Bybee and his wife Taylor (Shea) Bybee, daughter Brittany Bybee and her partner Mathew Moore, grandchildren Aiden and Marshall Bybee, Marianna and Graysin Moore and grandson Jaxson Winokur, his older sister, Brenda (Bybee) Navarro and her husband Paco Navarro. Several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
He passed from this life doing what he wanted and will be missed by all of us. The family will be doing a celebration of life for him in late October and the date and time yet be determined.
