Clara Martinez

December 19, 1928 — March 13, 2025

Clara was born in El Rio, Oxnard on December 19, 1928. Clara is well known and loved by family, friends, and anyone she crossed paths with. She was full of humor, love, and great stories. She grew up the youngest of 7 siblings. They grew up very close working together, living together and raising children together. As a teenager she worked at the Ortega factory where she met her husband, Albert. After Albert completed his military service he came back and declared his love. They soon got married and welcomed two sons, Ronald and William. They raised the boys along with nieces and nephews creating a bond in the next generation.

After a few years of marriage Clara and Albert left Ventura in search of better careers. The family of four moved to Santa Monica. After moving, she kept in touch with family in Ventura and looked forward to daily calls from family to hear about updates on current events. The families would also get together often to celebrate special occasions or simply so everyone could catch up in person.

Once Clara and Albert purchased their home in Venice, Clara began her career in the education system. She helped make a difference in countless students’ lives. She was known for her kindness and wisdom. She believed no child should be hungry, especially while at school. She helped give guidance and life lessons to students, and made sure they all felt safe to confide in her. She was well known at school and in the Venice community for her work with the youth. For many years after retirement her students would recognize her Chevy Malibu and approach her with appreciation.

Once retired she continued to stay in regular contact with family and loved to hear about the younger generation's adventures. She had various siblings, nieces and nephews call regularly. She spoke of all her family lovingly and of the good and difficult times. She dedicated many years and attention to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She supported her immediate family in their endeavors and always shares her thoughts and advice with all of them. In her later years Clara was loved and cared for by late husband Albert, son Ron, his sister in law and grandchildren. She is now survived by Ronald, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
