Christine Ellen Wilde Jones was born in Ventura, California. She attended Briggs Elementary School and then graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1961. After touring the world at the University of Seven Seas and attending college, she worked in Hawaii before moving with her husband, Jerry Jones, to Oxnard. Then, she and Jerry settled in Morgan Hill, where they lived for fifty years to be near his work at IBM and where Christine worked on many projects.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents, George I. Wilde and Delphine Joy Wilde, long-time residents of Santa Paula. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Jones, of Morgan Hill; her sister Joy, of Upland; her sister Pat, of Napa; her sister Alice (and husband Thomas Hahn), of Irvine; her brother Roger (and wife, Eileen Sheridan), of Montecito; and her sister Mary (and husband David Botta), of Del Mar.
Christine loved all of Nature--all animals and flowers, and especially birds. Growing up, every summer, she visited the American River in the family cabin at Strawberry, in the Sierras near Tahoe, and on the beach at the family Faria Beach house. Her favorite holiday was Easter, when she organized classic Easter Egg Hunts at the family home for the grandchildren. Taking great interest in the lives of her family members and nieces and nephews, she remembered each one with thoughtful cards at celebrations and birthdays. Always listening to others with gentle encouragement and support, family members cherished her invaluable perspective. She loved laughing with family and also showed her loved ones how to face life's vicissitudes with strength and courage.
Christine passed away surrounded by family members who loved her and will miss her fervently. Private family services will be held in Ventura, with burial at Santa Paula Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please offer instead donations to The Humane Society.
