Christa Winter

Christa Winter (1969-2015) Christa Marie Katsones was born on July 14, 1969. Christa ended her courageous four and a half years battle with breast cancer on April 16th, 2015. She passed away at Kaiser Woodland Hills Medical Center surrounded by her family. Christa was raised in Camarillo, Ca and graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 1987. Christa and her husband Larry made their home in Simi Valley, Ca for the last 13 years. Christa was an incredibly gifted dancer, strong-willed and competitive. Her passion for dance filled her life from performing during her early years up until the time she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was through this passion where she met the love of her life, Larry. She worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years before becoming a Founding Leader for Miche, a unique purse and accessory company. She had a contagious enthusiasm for life, loved having as much fun as possible and was unafraid of anybody or anything. Christa had a strong constitution of family. One of her many joys was watching her children, Nicholas and Charlize, excel in water polo. She spent many days and weekends poolside supporting her club, inspiring all that knew her. Christa is survived by her Husband, Larry Winter, her son Nicholas Kraemer (20), her daughter Charlize Winter (12) her mother Maria Mitchell, father George Katsones, sister Kelly Katsones as well as numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. While we have peace in knowing her life struggles are now over, it is with heavy hearts that we say our final goodbye. A visitation for Christa will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with the vigil to begin at 7pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road in Camarillo. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:00am located at Padre Serra Parish, 5205 Upland Road in Camarillo. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen Street in Chatsworth. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Huntsman Career Foundation in honor of Christa Winter.
