Chef Jose Sanchez

José Faustino Sánchez, 91 of Oxnard,California passed away on September 5, 2015. He was the son of Agustín González and Trinidad Romero of Apizaco, Tlaxcala México. He was preceded in death by his sons Joseph Salgado and Eugene Sanchez. He is survived by his two sisters Josefina González of Tlaxcala Mexico and Hilda Gamboa and his brother Guillermo Serrano of Santa Barbara, CA. Two daughters Jennie Blea of Albuquerque, NM , Mercedes (Mercy) Sánchez of Ventura, CA. and a son Ricardo (Rick) Sánchez of Santa Barbara, CA. and 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchidren and many nieces and nephews. Chef Jose worked as a chef until his retirement in 2012 .Chef José started the pursuit of his passion for food at a young age working as a cook at El Paseo Restaurant ,Montecito Inn in Santa Barbara , The Colonial House, The Lobster Trap and Hilton Hotel in Oxnard. He also taught restaurant Management at Oxnard College. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service for Jose will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15th at 6pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1347 Del Norte Road in Camarillo. A Mass will be celebrated for Jose on Wednesday, September 16th at 10am located at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Barbara. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Santa Barbara.
