Carole Sue (Harrington) Cooley, born in Long Beach, Calif., Sept. 30, 1938.
In loving memory of "CC". Carole Sue Cooley, our beautiful, so-giving mother, sister, daughter, grandma, friend, and hero left her earthly home Thanksgiving Day just before Thanksgiving Dinner (fighting a valiant fight against lymphoma cancer) to share it with her Lord and Savior.
Carole would put you to shame when it came to never giving up and thankfulness. Maybe that's why God took her Thanksgiving Day. Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name. For the Lord is good; His loving kindness is everlasting. And His faithfulness to all generations.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Coleman Harrington and her husband of 26 years Daniel Wilbur Cooley. Carole Sue is survived by her mother Carlene Ada Harrington, her two sons, Herb Cooley and wife Susan, Todd Cooley , and two daughters Sara James and husband Doug and Susan Ludwick and husband Kurt, 13 grandchildren, Helen, Hannah-Bear, Daniel, Emily (Ohmee), Miss Sara, Stevie George, Caleigh (LuLu), Scott, Brett, Chris, Grant, Claudia and Abi; her loving sister Georgia Sharon (Harrington) Newman and her brother-in-law Mel Newman, her nephew Roy A. Newman, her niece Kara Ann Newman, her cousins Billy McCollum and Janet Lawrence and many other cousins, her childhood friend Gail Wigger, and her faithful dog Sage.
Her most favorite job was being a homemaker for her four children when they were young, and she left them with many happy memories. She helped coach their sporting events and was always involved with her childrens' activities; loved collecting antiques; garage selling; traveling all over the US from Mount St. Helens to Myrtle Beach and Morro Bay; she spent her younger years growing up in Cairo, Egypt and Paris, France with her mother, father and sister; she loved to run and ran in many 10K races, she had a natural ability to play the piano, she loved horses and all animals; she loved picnics; she loved the ocean. She always loved the anticipation of visiting her children and grandchildren and every moment with them.
She was currently working for Ventura County Community College District at Oxnard College Fire Tech Academy. She loved her job and all of her many friends there, and the family would like to thank them for all of their support and love. She will be forever loved and missed greatly until we see her and be with her also in Glory with the Lord forever.
The family was blessed by the ladies from Livingston Hospice in Ventura and The Reverend Canon Jerome Kahler.
