Carl Matzenger

Carl G. Matzenger Ojai, CA Carl Matzenger, 58, passed away early March 15th, 2011 at his residence in Ojai, after a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer. His final days were spent at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Carl was born in San Bernardino, California on November 23, 1952 to George and Margaret Matzenger, and throughout his life he strove to live each day to the fullest. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson up the coast, listening to the blues on warm summer days, rooting for the Raiders and NASCAR, and barbequing with his family and friends. During his life, Carl touched many people with his friendliness and humor, and was always quick to lend a helping hand. Carl is survived by his wife of 9 years, Kathy Peet-Matzenger, mother Margaret Matzenger, brothers George, Don and Mark Matzenger, sisters Debbie and Darlene Matzenger, step-children Tim, Ramona, Sarah, James and Sasha Peet, Leif and Natasha Mullican, Cassandra Mullican, grandchildren, Jayden Peet and Alyzay Ramos, and many other close life-time friends with whom Carl had shared years of friendship with. He is preceded in death by his father, George Matzenger. Carl’s family would like to express their gratitude to the VCMC oncology unit’s staff, and Dr. Larks, for their compassion and caring throughout Carl’s final years. Services for Carl will be held at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 185 Saint Thomas Drive in Ojai on Monday, March 21st at 11:00 AM, with a celebration of his life to immediately following at his residence, 102 East Summer Street in Ojai. “Keep on trucking Carl!”
