Bobbie Jean Stidham
Oak View, CA
Born February 16, 1930 to John and Mary Lucy in Blytheville, AR, went peacefully to her heavenly home, November 4, 2011.
She enjoyed 64 years of marriage to Ollie Stidham until his death on February 11th of this year.
After raising her children in Grandview, MO, and enjoying her life as a homemaker, she went to work in retail for the JC Penny Company in 1965. Upon relocating from Grandview to Oak View in 1977, she continued in the company’s Ventura store for several years before taking a position at Rains in Ojai where she worked until her retirement in 1989. Above all, Bobbie was a dedicated Christian and inspired others in their faith. She taught Sunday school for many years and participated in group and independent Bible studies. She was devoted to her family and a cherished friend to many. She loved being by the ocean, walks with her husband, reading, gardening, and family gatherings. She was an active member of the Live Oak Christian Fellowship Church in Oak View. Her sense of humor, sharp intelligence, and gracious spirit will be greatly missed.
She is survived by daughter, Susan Ozorkiewicz of Salem, OR; Stepson Troy & daughter-in-law Eva Stidham of Paragould, AR; 7 grandchildren; and, 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Staff Sgt. Larry D. Stidham, who died from exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam and her husband, Ollie Stidham.
