Beverly Fox

December 20, 1943 — February 6, 2025

Beverly Carol Hubbard Fox of Fillmore, California passed away on February 6, 2025 at the age of 81 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Beverly and her twin brother, William Hubbard, were born on December 20, 1943, in Los Angeles, California to Darrell William Hubbard, a film projectionist, and his wife Agnes Lucille Hubbard, a wonderful homemaker. Growing up in North Hollywood, Bev, as she was known to most, attended Providence High School, a Catholic School for girls, where she excelled in Home Economics and in the school chorus.

On April 27, 1962, Beverly married Gene Raymond Fox at a ceremony in Burbank, California, where they lived together in a home on Shadycove Avenue. Together, in 1967, they welcomed their first daughter Julie Ann Fox into the world. Five years later, in 1972, Beverly gave birth to her second daughter, Heather Suzanne Firich, with Robert Samuel Firich. Though she was a single mom for several years, she always put her daughters’ needs first and made many friends and memories in the home she lived in for 40 years.

Beverly loved the outdoors. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping at Carpinteria State Beach with her lifelong friend Nannette and family. She also loved to take trips to the High Sierras where she spent many summers and winters in June Lake. Her love for travel took her on many adventures across the country to campgrounds, ghost town antique stores, and even to Iowa, where she could visit close relatives like her cousin Kay and aunts Addy and Nathalie in the summer months. It was on these trips where she would take countless photos of architecture, nature, and family members to share with all. Beverly had many varied careers throughout her life. She worked in data entry, secretarial positions, photography development, as a restaurant hostess, and at the Fillmore Senior Center, coordinating events and working the 4th of July fireworks booths where although she was not a fan of the heat, she did the work with heart. At home she had a continued passion for gardening, sewing, and creating costumes and stage sets for her church’s musical performances, for her children on Halloween, and for various other productions.

Beverly was a woman of God, and as such had a compassionate heart and was alwayswilling to help and encourage others. With a deep love for family, she enjoyed planning family trips, reunions, church socials, and much more. She loved each of her grandchildren deeply and held a special place in her heart for each one of them.

This wonderful and greatly loved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whom we all loved and called “Nana”, is survived by her twin brother William Hubbard, half-sister Kay Becerra, daughters Julie Ann Fairall and Heather Suzanne Vail, son-in-law Richard Howard Fairall, grandchildren Alysa Peyton Perez, Lauren Paloma Fairall, Dylan Tyler Vail, Audrey Noelle Vail, Jared James Fairall, and Justin Russel Fairall, grandson-in-law Clinton Perez, great granddaughters Avery Noelle Perez and Peyton Mae Perez, and nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Wendy Rees for being there from the beginning and for your continued support and companionship. Thank you to Cheryl Wade for helping us navigate these difficult times.
