Betty Ann McLemen,
Eighty-five year old passed away on March 10, 2010 long time resident of Ventura County. Betty was born on Oct. 15, 1924 to Fredrick E. and Hazel J. Babel of Grand Island, Neb.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life Bruce McLemen. Together they had five children Mark (Cathy) McLemen of Camarillo, Robert (Priscilla) McLemen of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kimberly (Bobby) Snyder of Santa Barbara, Cynthia (Roger) Hagger of Arlington, Texas, and Bret McLemen of Camarillo. Betty was preceded in death by her two sisters and three brothers.
The greatest joys of her life were her 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Betty loved cooking for her family and having them over for the holidays. In her younger days she would fly all over with her husband of 58 years until her ear problems, then together they traveled by car. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, crocheting for her family and reading for hours. Never missed a day meeting her friends at the Coffee Bean in Camarillo.
She was the Los Angeles Herald Examiner dealer in Ventura County for many years. She eventually went to work for Naval Ship Weapons Systems Engineering Station of Port Hueneme, as a Configuration Specialist. She retired after eighteen years. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday March 21, at 11 a.m. at Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo
