Bernice Nave, 89, peacefully passed away in her Santa Paula home on February 13th, 2025. Family and friends who adored her, knew her by her nickname "Gordie". She is survived by her brother Dickie Ayala, son David Salazar and daughter Rosalie "Chula" Casas, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and the Robles Family. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, David "Wawa" Nava and her son Leonard "Lenny" Salazar.
Born on August 6th 1935, Bernice grew up with her family in El Rio, California. She was married to her beloved husband, David, for 58 years. Bernice was a longtime Santa Paula resident and was active in her community. She was an exercise instructor at the Shape Shop Gym. She was a former kitchen volunteer at the Our Guadalupe Church, where she also had serviced as a catechism teacher. Bernice was a cherished caretaker for the Robles Family children; Francisco, Anamaria and Luis. Those that knew Bernice will forever be impacted by charismatic personality and spirit.
Graveside service for Bernice will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 2:00pm at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery
