Bernardina, age 76 passed away the evening of Friday April 7th, 2023. Fondly know to everyone as Nany, she was born in Sanalona, Sinaloa, Mexico born to Cesario and Dolores Barraza. In her early childhood she and her family moved to Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and in her teenage years they relocated to Oxnard, California where she eventually met and married her Husband of almost 50 years Marcelo Barquin.
Bernardina was a true Matriarch of her family, she loved and cared for everyone. She loved spending time with her family, she was well known for her amazing cooking, and she fed everyone that would visit, she enjoyed going to the beach and to Las Vegas any chance she got. Her love for drinking Coke ended up as a hobby of her collecting everything Coca Cola she could find. She is survived by her Sons, Oscar (wife Guadalupe) Eloy (wife Diana) and Andrew (wife Hilda) her daughter, Angela (husband James) her Grandchildren, Zayden, Andrea, Desirae, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Alfredo, Jamie, Gerardo, Arianna and Eloy Jr., her great grand-daughter, Athena, her Sisters, Maria de Jesus Calderon and Candelaria Mejia (Brother-in-Law Meliton Mejia) her Brother Arnoldo Barraza, her Brother-in-Law Heriberto Duran and numerous Nieces and Nephews who she loved all as much as her own children. She was preceded in death by her Father Cesario Rochin Barraza, her Mother Dolores Felix Arredondo de Barraza, her Husband, Marcelo Barquin, her Sister Dolores Barraza de Duran, her Brother Cesario Barraza, her Brother-in-law Ismael Calderon, her Sister-in-Law Maria Eduwigez Barraza.
As her Children we were truly fortunate to have had such an amazing Mother her love was unconditional and everlasting and then getting to see her become the most Beloved Nana to her grandchildren was a Blessing. Rest in Peace and thank you for all the love you gave us.
My Brothers and I would like to thank everyone who has reached out to us during this difficult time to give us their condolences we appreciate it so much and can feel the loveeveryone has for our Beautiful Mother.
With love and gratitude,
