Bennie was born on March 21, 1927 in Pomona, California. He was a Moorpark resident for over 78 years. He then moved to Arvin, where he lived his remaining 15 years. He was a proud World War II Army veteran, and he always wore his veteran hats. He enjoyed sharing his historical stories with his family. He was a devoted USC fan and was a season ticket holder for 30+ years. He loved to watch USC football games while drinking a Budweiser and eating peanuts. When the game was over, you could catch him drinking coffee with some pan dulce; he loved his sweets! He will always be remembered for the love of his family, his award-winning smile, and his catchphrase “easy easy.” He loved to go on vacation to Stateline, where he would spend hours playing his favorite $5 slot machines. Every year he looked forward to seeing his family at the Lopez Family Reunion. All in all, he was a sweet, funny, and wise man that was full of love in everything he did.
