Aurora Bangit Velasquez

Aurora passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2009 at 12:00pm at her home in Oxnard,CA after a brief illness. Her daughter, Jocelyn and adopted brother Mike Powell were at her side. Aurora was born October 15th, 1950 in Angeles City, Philippines to Guillermo and Catalina Bangit. She was Preceded in Death by her husband of thirty three years Leonardo Velasquez. She was survived by five children:Jocelyn Powell of Oxnard, Josephine Castro, Arnold Velasquez, Julie Cunanan, Daniel Velasquez of Angeles City, Philippines. Thirteen Grandchildren; Mathew, Joshua, and Micael Powell of Oxnard and Chritopher, Chester, Armando, Nichole, Mae Castro, Ricky Ivin, Triscia Mae, Angela Joy Velasquez, Mikko, And Marvin Cunanan and one Great Grandson Jess Marveric. Aurora had three brothers; Joe(deceased), Guillermo, and Ramon Bangit (deceased) and three sisters; Raming Quidara Pining Panintuan, Cita Bagsik. Aurora came to Oxnard, CA from the Philippines in 2004 to live with her daughter Jocelyn. She wroked as a Caregiver and helped care for her Grandsons. She lived the last four years with her daughters Mother and Father in Law, Mike and Rosita Powell.
