Arnoldo Macias Valenzuela, beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, friend, Padrino, compadre left us to be with the lord on the morning of Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 82 at his home in Cabrillo Village, Ventura, California.
He was surrounded by family and went peacefully after many years of battling Dementia. He will rejoin his parents and sisters Sofia Valenzuela Elizarrarras, Sonia Valenzuela, and brother Leo Valenzuela in heaven.
Arnoldo Macias Valenzuela was born on October 14, 1941, in Sonora, Cananea
Mexico to his parents Guillermo Espinoza Valenzuela and Maria Macias Valenzuela. He was the second to the last of his siblings and loved them all very dearly. Arnoldo married Margarita Garcia Galindo on December 15, 1973, in Porterville, California and together raised three great children.
Arnoldo is survived by his wife Margarita Galindo Valenzuela, first born Sofia V. Garcia, son-in-law Jose Luis Garcia, granddaughters Brenda Garcia, Julieta Garcia, Sofia Isabel Garcia, and grandson Jovan Garcia. Second born Margarita V. Bravo, son-in-law Manuel Bravo Jr. Third born Arnoldo Valenzuela Jr., daughter-in-law Mabel Esquivel Valenzuela, grandson Arnoldo Valenzuela III, and granddaughter Emma Rose Valenzuela. His youngest brother Javier Valenzuela.
Arnoldo was passionate about many things like family, friends, music, hard work, and cooking his famous barbacoa. He was a padrino and compadre to many and enjoyed cooking for the many celebrations. Arnoldo was very talented and enjoyed singing and playing music.
He lived most of his life in Ventura, and worked harvesting lemons and was one of the 80 original families from Cabrillo Village who fought together and purchased the homes from the Saticoy Lemon Association. Arnoldo later joined LiUNA Local 585 where he worked hard to provide for his family and worked on many big bridge and infrastructures projects in Ventura County. He retired from Local 585 in 2007.
