Antonio Stephen Medina
was born on Feb. 5, 1992, and suddenly passed on January 30, 2012 at the age of 19. He was born and raised in Oxnard, Ca.
He is survived by his loving
parents, Antonio Medina and
Cynthia Herrera of Oxnard. He also leaves
behind his sister, Stephanie Burson,
and younger brother, Ricky
Medina also of Oxnard. His paternal grandparents
are Maria del Refugio and
Fidel Medina; uncles Jose Luis Medina, Ignacio Medina, and Fidel Medina all of Penjamo, Mexico and uncles Miguel Medina
and Guadalupe Medina of Oxnard. Aunts include Evangelina Medina,
Lilia Medina and Elsa Medina also of Penjamo, Mexico.
His Maternal great-grandmother Rosario Herrera from Mexicali, Mexico.
Grandfather Manuel Herrera and Grandmother Irene Covarrubias both from Oxnard. Aunts include Mary Ann Gonzales,
Mona Black, Geri Pina, Charito Herrera; uncles,
Manuel Herrera and Jaime Herrera, all of Oxnard.
As a child, Antonio played numerous sports which included Basketball for Lemonwood Elementary, Football for Oxnard 49ers, AYSO Soccer, and Little League Baseball for Port Hueneme (known as the Big Kahuna).
During Antonio’s short time with us, he had many accomplishments. He received his GED on his first attempt, received Certificates of Authenticity for Landscaping and Silk Screening.
Antonio enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was especially talented in Rapping and writing his own lyrics which has now inspired the community.
The family extends the gratitude and support that family, friends and the community have contributed in the passing of Antonio.
Visitation will be held Wednesday February 8th at Perez Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Mass will be held Thursday February 9th at St. Anthony’s Church, 2511 S. C Street, Oxnard on beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Reception will follow at the Moose Lodge, 1935 S. Oxnard Blvd, Oxnard.
