Angel Amostegui Puente, 68, of Oxnard, California passed away with his loving wife, daughter and son by his side at his home on October 30th, 2010 after a 2 year battle of Kidney Cancer.
Angel was born in Zunzarren, Navarra, Spain on February 28th, 1942. He served in the Spanish military for 2 years. He migrated to the US as a sheepherder in 1967. Angel came to the US in search of a newfound life; 6 years later he met his soul mate Connie who he later married in 1974 and had 2 beautiful children Lorraine and Henry.
While living in Ventura County, Angel dedicated 13 years at the Chase Brothers Dairy and 13 years at Tri County Auto Dismantlers. After a 2 year period of overcoming a Double Bypass Surgery, he began his 6 year stint at California State Parks where he stated “Este es el major trabajo que he tenido”. Then in 2008, he was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer, this is when his long uphill battle began with numerous doctor appointments, treatments and procedures. During his fight with Cancer, he gathered the strength to make numerous trips with family and friends. The most significant trip was in July with his family to his homeland Pamplona, Navarra, Spain.
Angel is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Lorraine, son Henry, grandson Mateo, son-in-law Anthony, sister Juana M, brother Lauro, sister Eduvigues and brother Emilio.
Angel’s immediate family extends their humble thanks and gratitude to all the neighbors, friends, and members of the extended family for their abiding love and support during this difficult time.
