Our beloved Mother Alice M. Volz passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2011
after suffering a stroke. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William T.Volz and her granddaughter Tammy Haigler Compton. She was a kind, generous and wonderful Mother and friend who will be dearly missed.
Alice was born on June 13th 1929 in the Bronx, New York. She and Bill met at
the Beach on the 4th of July weekend and were inseparable for 64 years. They started their life together dating on a Harley Davidson Bill bought after being discharged from the Marines.
Alice and Bill were married two years later, started a family and raised their children from New York to Arizona to New Jersey and finally settled in California. She loved being home raising her children and escape to her garden where she enjoyed her free time.
She was energetic and always fun to be around. There was always a twinkle
and mischievous smile in her beautiful blue eyes. Being around her, there was never a dull moment! She truly loved her family and friends and made sure there was always a BBQ on Holidays and a party on Birthdays.
We would like to thank Assisted Home Hospice for their quality of care and support for Mom and our family and Sally’s Residential Care Home for the loving care and personal touches they provided in Mom’s time with them.
Alice is survived by her daughter Linda Erickson and husband Ken; son Bill Volz
and wife Robin; Daughters, Sue Haigler and Lori Cook; Grandchildren Tiffany, Travis, Annie and Lauren; Great Grandchildren, Giovanni, Jonathan and Hayley.
A memorial service will be held at a later date
