Alfred Charles Young lived in Camarillo, California, and passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012. He was born on September 15, 1927 in Burbank, California to his parents George Charles Young and Margaret Redeker. He was raised in Burbank, Ca. and when he came of age enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 2 years. During this time of his life, he also studied English at UCLA. During his younger years, he worked as a mason on his way to becoming a successful real estate developer. He retained ownership of a large portion of his portfolio until his death.
Al loved the ocean and built two houses on Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard, Ca. He and his wife Barbara decided to raise their three children here. Some years later, he moved to Camarillo,Ca. He enjoyed playing golf, and became a longtime member of The Las Posas Country Club, Camarillo, Ca.
He spent much of his vacation time traveling to many foreign countries and experiencing many different cultures.
He is survived by Barbara L. Young,, the mother of his children. Al's son, Todd Young, his daughter-in-law Cynthia Young of Oxnard, Ca., and his granddaughter, Teal Young of Santa Barbara, Ca.; Al's middle daughter Beth and his son-in-law Jim Salcido, and his grandchildren, Brandon, Blythe, and Blaine Burrer of Fullerton, Ca.; and Al's youngest daughter Allison and his son-in-law James Dobbins of Ventura, Ca.
Surviving him are his sisters Donna, Darlene and Ruth. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty and his two brothers Bill and Frank.
