Alfred Palomino

Alfred Allen Palomino (1956 – 2020) Alfred Allen Palomino went home to our Lord on October 27, 2020 at the age of 64. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and family member who touched many lives. Alfred was born March 1, 1956 in Lynwood, California, and he grew up in Whittier with his parents: Louis and Rose Palomino, and 11 other siblings. He graduated from Sierra High School. Next, he graduated from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in 1977, where he fell in love and married his wife of 43 years, Diane Gutierrez Palomino, on campus at the LMU Sacred Heart Chapel. Alfred started his career at Norwalk’s California Youth Authority Correctional Facility. In 1980, he transferred to Ventura School California Youth Authority and moved with the family to Moorpark. Alfred conducted his profession with integrity and was an example to others. In 2006, he retired from this facility as Parole Agent III. He enjoyed fishing with his sons: Alfred Jr. and Alejandro, and his grandchildren. He chartered offshore fishing trips to the Channel Islands with family and friends. He traveled to Mexico for fishing vacations with his family and to Europe with his wife. Alfred was a compassionate and generous person. He was a caregiver for his mother, Rose, and with his wife, they cared for his in-laws: Della and Manuel Gutierrez, and their grandsons Alfred III and Anthony. Alfred will be greatly missed by his family members, grandchildren: Alfred III, Anthony, Rosemary, Joseph, Eliana, and his friends. He enjoyed having backyard barbeques and annual tamale gatherings. He was a handyman and completed many home improvement projects. A rosary and viewing will be held at 7pm on Friday November 6, 2020 at Perez Family Funeral Home, 1347 Del Norte Road, Camarillo, CA 93010, (805) 983-3457. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7, 2020, 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 13955 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark CA 93021, (805) 529-1397. Burial will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road, Simi Valley, CA 93065, (805) 583-5825.
