Alexanderina Livingston Kennedy Stallings, known as Sandra, passed away peacefully in her home in Camarillo, California on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her family and had battled cancer for the last year and a half. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Walt Stallings, and her children, Mark, Jason, and Krystle. Her sisters Morag Ferguson, Hughna Moore, Pheona Kennedy, Garry Kennedy in Scotland and Myra McLaren, her twin sister, in California, also survive her. Sandra was born on August 2, 1938 in Paisley, Scotland. Her early memories were of German bomb raids and cold Scottish winters. Her modest upbringing was recalled warmly, with stories of simple joys. After graduating high school she chose to forge a new life in the warmth of Santa Monica, California where she distinguished herself as a likable and very hard working restaurateur. Soon, she married Walt and moved to Camarillo beginning a long and rewarding life as small business owners. Sandra built remarkable friendships that spanned decades. Her daily life was filled with joyful encounters with people in the community. Sandra's ability to recall fond details and connect with people was her trademark. Her affinity for people was extraordinary and became a foundation of strength as she battled for her life. Sandra is remembered as a kind, loving, thoughtful, and elegant women. Her strength and will power inspired all who cared for her. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Sunday, June 25 2017 at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sandra’s life.
