Don Albino “Nito” Rodriguez Magaña died peacefully at St. John’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 27th, 2016 in Oxnard, CA at the age of 87.
Albino is survived by his wife, Maria Luisa; children, José Israel, Ernesto, Jaime, Gilberto and Carlos; sibling, Gilberto Rodriguez Magaña from Zacapu, Michoacán, Mexico.
Albino was born on October 9, 1929 in Purepero Michoacán, Mexico to Don Albino Rodriguez, Sr. and Doña Paula Magaña. He volunteered and served in the Mexican Army in the state of Michoacán in 1948. He married Maria Luisa Cisneros Villegas, his first love in 1955. After moving to Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, Albino began working for his father-in-law operating heavy-duty farm equipment and helping with farming in the Cisneros Ranch. Over the next 10 years, the couple welcomed four male children into their home and Albino set about teaching them responsibility and hard work. Albino emigrated his family to the US in 1966 in search of better opportunities. While in the US the family welcomed their fifth and youngest male child Carlos. His children remember him as a gentle, caring and hardworking father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Albino was very successful throughout his life and specifically he was dependable and an excellent communicator which landed him jobs with Coastal Growers Association of Oxnard with increasing levels of responsibility until retirement. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved music and cinema and who was passionate about teaching children the importance of education. He was an active and dedicated member of St. Mary Magdalen Chapel.
A visitation for Albino will be held on Friday, December 30, 2015 from 5-9pm with the Rosary beginning at 7pm located at the Perez Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1347 Del Norte Road in Camarillo.
A funeral mass is scheduled for 10am Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, with the funeral to follow at Conejo Mountain Cemetery, Camarillo, CA. Fr. Preston will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Albino’s life. Condolences can be sent to erodriguez_805@yahoo.com.
